Oxytocin is a naturally occurring neuropeptide involved in bonding, social connection, stress regulation, and attachment. In psychiatry, intranasal oxytocin remains an off-label and investigational adjunct. When appropriate, it may be considered as part of a broader treatment plan focused on therapy engagement, emotional openness, attachment work, or integration support. It is not a stand-alone treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, autism, or relationship problems

For select patients, we may consider off-label compounded intranasal oxytocin as an adjunct to psychotherapy, ketamine integration, or relational/attachment-focused treatment when clinically appropriate.
